I began practicing yoga when I was 21 years old and for many years attended a weekly class with a wonderful teacher. I thought at that time that I would like to be a yoga teacher but considered it out of the realms of possibility and decided to study massage and reflexology and then went off to University to study herbal medicine.
My yoga teacher passed away and I did not attend yoga classes for a couple of years. I began to notice all sorts of old health problems creeping back and decided that yoga was a crucial part of my staying well. I came back to yoga practice in 2009 and quickly decided that it was the right time in my life to study yoga more deeply. I decided to take the Devon School of Yoga foundation course which inspired me to continue onto their Teacher Training Course. I have since completed an advanced yoga teacher training with Donna Farhi in New Zealand. One of my favourite pastimes is furthering my yoga studies by attending workshops and retreats and most recently I have been studying Somatic Movement. |
